So… In my review of what will be happening in 2024 for WordPress (view it here https://youtu.be/2J8fzxNmNOM ), one of my predictions was that site speed would be a big thing this year … and I’m please to say there has been a load of discussion on this – as predicted!
In that vid I was affirming that speed is the only way we, as website builders/devs/agencies/freelancers can make an immediate impact on climate change. Oh, and by the way your site will rank higher because it will be faster 🙂
So onto Page Builder Speeds!
I did my first Page Builder review on this channel in 2014 !! See it here: https://youtu.be/klAbYCIGWMM ( It didn’t include a speed test in that vid! )
And I’ve tried most of the Page Builders since then – right now, in case you didn’t know, I’m a Block Theming type of guy 🙂
So I got thinking, how do those Page Builder’s own homepages stack up for speed – do these brands walk the walk – yah get meh?
For two reasons:
— Those brands should be striving for speed and reduced carbon on their own sites
— And, yeah, if you say your product creates fast, optimised sites – does your own site shape up!
So I decided to gather the evidence and rank the Page Builder brands performance on their home pages – including Google’s Page Speed Insights score for Performance on mobile, the page sizes in MBs and how their pages rank in respect to it’s carbon footprint.
In this vid I’ll take you through the results of the 16 top Page Builders from 16th place to the top slot – enjoy!
